29 | 150 | SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 70 O.S. 202 1, Section 3311.5, is | |

32 | 152 | Section 3311.5. A. On and after November 1, 2007, the Council | |
33 | 153 | on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET), pursuant to its | |

87 | 251 | selected from recommendations provided by the Office of the Attorney | |
88 | 252 | General or the Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board. The | |

143 | 344 | academy training courses. Upon application to the Council, any | |
144 | 345 | municipality with a population of sixty -five thousand (65,000) or | |
145 | 346 | more or any county with a population of f ive hundred thousand | |
146 | 347 | (500,000) or more shall be authorized to operate a basic law | |
147 | 348 | enforcement academy. In addition, upon applica tion and approval | |
148 | 349 | from the Council, a municipality with a population under sixt y-five | |
149 | 350 | thousand (65,000) or a county with a popu lation under five hund red | |
150 | 351 | thousand (500,000) may be authorized to operate a basic law | |
151 | 352 | enforcement academy; provided, however, the Council may approve no | |
152 | 353 | more than two such applications per year. The Council shall approve | |
153 | 354 | an application when the municipali ty or county making th e | |
154 | 355 | application meets the criteria for a separate training academy and | |
155 | 356 | demonstrates to the satisfaction of th e Council that the academy has | |
156 | 357 | sufficient resources to conduct the training, th e instructional | |
157 | 358 | staff is appropriately trained a nd qualified to teach the course | |
158 | 359 | materials, the curriculum is composed of comparable or higher | |
159 | 360 | quality course segments to the CLE ET academy curriculum, and the | |
160 | 361 | facilities where the academy will be conducted a re safe and | |
