7171 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
7272 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
7373 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1407 of Title 20, unless there
7474 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
7575 As authorized pursuant to subs ection (c) of Section 11 of
7676 Article VII of the Oklahoma Constitution, a n appellate Justice or
7777 Judge in this state shall be automatically retir ed when he or she
7878 reaches seventy-five (75) years of age , if not having previously
7979 chosen to retire. Such retiremen t shall occur upon reaching
8080 seventy-five (75) years of age regardless of any time remainin g in
8181 an existing term. Any vacancy occurring upon a retirement as
8282 required by this section shall be filled as provided by law.
8383 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2022.
