79	79	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
80	80	SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
81	81	in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 14-108.2 of Title 26, unless
82	82	there is created a duplication in numb ering, reads as follows:
83	83	A. This act shall be known and may be cited as the “Election
84	84	Notary Accountability Act ”.
85	85	B. On or after the effective date of this act, within thirty
86	86	(30) days after an election, each notary public shall submit a copy
87	87	of his or her notary receipt book covering the ninety (90) days
88	88	preceding the election to the county election board of the notary’s
89	89	residency for verific ation of the number of ballots notarized by the

141	141	notary public. A notary public who does not comply with the
142	142	requirements of this se ction shall be, upon conviction, guilty of a
143	143	misdemeanor and subject to a fine not to exceed Five Hundred Dollars
144	144	($500.00) per instance.
145	145	C. A notary public who intent ionally provides a false copy of
146	146	the notary receipt book shall be subject to prosecution for election
147	147	fraud. If the county election board determines that a notary has
148	148	notarized more than the authorized number of ballots or violated any
149	149	other provision of this a ct, the board shall notify the district
150	150	attorney who shall investigate any possible criminal violation .
151	151	SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2022.
