SENATE BILL NO. 1856 By: Allen and David of the

Boles of the House
An Act relating to carbon sequestration; directing
office of the Secretary of Energy and Environment to
create and administer grant program for certain
entities; requiring grant program be subject to
Legislative authorization; providing for
codification; and providing an effective date .
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF O KLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 3-6-101 of Title 27A, unless
there is created a dupli cation in numbering, reads as follows:
The office of the Secretary of Energy and Environment shall
create and administer a grant program for entities utilizing
sequestration of carbon captured from production of hydrogen from
natural gas. The Secretary shall determine criteria for the program
and establish a process for consideratio n of proposals. The grant
program shall only be subject to the authorization of federal
dollars by the Legislature .

SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2022.
