4738 An Act relating to counties and county officers ;
4839 amending 19 O.S. 2011, Section 455 , which relates to

6152 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
6253 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 19 O.S. 2011, Section 455, is
6354 amended to read as follows:
6455 Section 455. A. The board of county commissioners of each
6556 county is hereby authorized t o offer and pay a rew ard, from county
6657 funds, in an amount not to exceed One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00)
6758 for the arrest and conviction or plea agreement, or for evidence
59+leading to the arrest and conviction or plea agreement of any person
60+stealing or defacing county road signs or any other county property.
61+B. The board of county commissioners may create and maintai n a
62+reward fund of not to exceed Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) from

95-leading to the arrest and conviction or plea agreement of any person
96-stealing or defacing county road signs or any other county property.
97-B. The board of count y commissioners may create and maintain a
98-reward fund of not to exceed Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) from
9989 which to pay the rewards provided for in subsection A of this

10191 C. All claims relating to a conviction or plea agreement shall
10292 be considered together by the board of county comm issioners and
10393 local law enforcement following receipt of the prosecutin g
10494 attorney’s report.
10595 D. In determining the amount of the r eward, the board of county
10696 commissioners shall have sole discretion to honor or deny the claim,
10797 but shall consider:
10898 1. The severity of the offense;
10999 2. The size of the fine imposed;
110100 3. The number of persons claiming a reward and the degree to
111101 which each claimant was responsible for the arres t or conviction;
112102 4. The burden, if any, incurred by the claimant including cost
113103 to appear at trial; and
114104 5. Other factors which the board or governing body de ems
115105 appropriate.
116106 E. No reward shall be authorized by the county until the
117107 conviction or plea agreement of the accused.
108+F. Any person convicted under subsection A of this section may

111+SECTION 2. This act shall become effective December 1, 2021.

145-F. Any person convicted un der subsection A of this section may
