18	48		school district and public charter school to provide
19	49		students in certain grades certain opportunity to
20	50		take certain assessment and consult with certain
21	51		recruiter; requiring test to be administered during
22	52		certain hours; requiring certain information to be
23	53		provided to students in certain grades and their
24	54		parents or legal guardians; allowing certain
25	55		alternative test to be administered; providing for
26	56		codification; providing an effective date; and

35	63		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE ST ATE OF OKLAHOMA:

37	64		SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
38	65		in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1210.508 -5 of Title 70, unless
39	66		there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

41	67		A. Beginning in the 2021 -2022 school year, each public school
42	68		district and public charter school shall provide students in grades
43	69		ten through twelve an opportunity to take the Armed Services

49	99		B. The ASVAB test shall be scheduled during normal school day
50	100		hours at a time that limits conflicts with extracurricular
51	101		activities.

53	102		C. Each public school district and public charter school shall
54	103		provide each student in grades ten through twelve and his or her
55	104		parent or legal guardian with the date, time and location of the
56	105		scheduled administration of the ASVAB test.

58	106		D. A public school district and public charter school may elect
59	107		not to provide the ASVAB test if the district or charter school
60	108		provides an alternative t est that:

62	109		1. Assesses a student ’s aptitude for success in a career field
63	110		other than a career field that requires postsecondary education;

65	111		2. Is free to administer;

67	112		3. Requires minimal training and support of district or charter
68	113		school faculty and staff to administer the test; and

70	114		4. Provides the student with a professional interpretation of
71	115		the test results that allows the student to explore occupations that
72	116		are consistent with his or her interests and skills and to develop
73	117		strategies to attain career g oals.

75	118		SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2021.

77	119		SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
78	120		of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
