75	75	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF R EPRESENTATIVES OF THE
76	76	1ST SESSION OF THE 58TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:
77	77	SECTION 1. The Secretary of State shall refer to the people for
78	78	their approval or rejection, as and in the manner provided by law,
79	79	the following proposed amendment to Sect ion 1 of Article XXIV of the
80	80	Oklahoma Constitution to read as follows:
81	81	Section 1. Any amendment or amendments to this Constitution may
82	82	be proposed in either branch of the Legislature, and if the same
83	83	shall be agreed to by a major ity of all the members elected to ea ch
84	84	of the two (2) houses, such proposed amendment or amendments shall,
85	85	with the yeas and nays thereon, be entered in their journals and
86	86	referred by the Secretary of State to the people for their approval
87	87	or rejection, at the next regular general election, except when the

139	139	Legislature, by a two -thirds (2/3) vote of each house, shall order a
140	140	special election for that purpose. If a majority not less than
141	141	sixty percent (60%) of all the electors voting on any proposed
142	142	amendment at such election shall vote in favor thereof, it shall
143	143	thereby become a part of this Constitution.
144	144	No proposal for the amendment or alteration of this Constitution
145	145	which is submitted to the voters shall embrace more than one general
146	146	subject and the voter s shall vote separately for or against each
147	147	proposal submitted; provided, however, that in the submission of
148	148	proposals for the amendment of this Constitution by articles, which
149	149	embrace one general subject, each proposed article shall be deemed a
150	150	single proposal or proposition.
151	151	SECTION 2. The Ballot Title for the proposed Constitutional
152	152	amendment as set forth in SECTION 1 of this resolution shall be in
153	153	the following form:

156	156	THE GIST OF THE PROPOSITION IS AS FOLLOWS:
157	157	This measure would amend Section 1 of Article 24 of the Oklahoma
158	158	Constitution. It would increase the vote required to pass a
159	159	constitutional amendment proposed by the Legislature from a
160	160	simple majority to a 60% vote of the electors voting on the
161	161	amendment.
