40	40	An Act relating to schools; amending 70 O.S. 2021,
41	41	Section 6-189.2, as amended by Section 5, Chapte r
42	42	220, O.S.L. 2022 (70 O.S. Supp. 2022, Section 6-
43	43	189.2), which relates to school psychologist or
44	44	psychometrist certification; exempting certain school
45	45	psychologists or psychometrists from completing
46	46	certain competency examination; updating statutory
47	47	reference to outdated entity ; providing an effective
48	48	date; and declaring an emergency.

54	54	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
55	55	SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 70 O.S. 2021, Section 6 -189.2, as
56	56	amended by Section 5, Chap ter 220, O.S.L. 2022 (70 O.S. Supp . 2022,
57	57	Section 6-189.2), is amended to read as follows:
58	58	Section 6-189.2 A. Any person seeking certification as a
59	59	school psychologist or school psychometrist shall be exempt from the
60	60	requirement to succe ssfully complete the professional education
61	61	portion of the competency examination required pursuant to Sections
62	62	6-187 and 6-190 of this title.
63	63	B. Any person seeking certification as a school psychologist or
64	64	school psychometrist shall be exempt from all portions of the

91	91	competency examination required pursu ant to Sections 6-187 and 6-190
92	92	of this title if the person is a l icensed professional counselor
93	93	recognized by the State Board of B ehavioral Health Licensure and has
94	94	successfully completed the Nation al Counselor Examinatio n
95	95	administered by the National Board for Certified Counselors .
96	96	C. Any person certified as a school psychologist or school
97	97	psychometrist pursuan t to a substitution or exemption as provided in
98	98	this section shall be required to complete all portions of the
99	99	competency examination as required pursuant to Sections 6 -187 and 6-
100	100	190 of this title if such person seeks to add certifica tion in
101	101	another subject in the future.
102	102	C. D. The Oklahoma Commission for Teacher Preparation
103	103	Educational Quality and Accountability shall adopt rules to
104	104	implement the provisions of this section.
105	105	SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2023.
106	106	SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
107	107	of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
108	108	declared to exist, by reason whereof thi s act shall take effect and
109	109	be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
