50	50	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
51	51	SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 567.12, is
52	52	amended to read as follows :
53	53	Section 567.12 A. To qualify in this state as an approved
54	54	program for registered nurses, the program shall be conducted in the
55	55	State of Oklahoma in an accredited college or university leading to
56	56	an associate, baccalaureate, or higher degree in nursing. Such
57	57	programs shall meet the standards fixed by the Oklahoma Board of
58	58	Nursing and prescribed i n its rules.
59	59	B. To qualify in the State of Oklahoma as an approved diploma
60	60	program for registered nurses, or an LPN to Diploma RN ladder
61	61	program for registered nurses, the program shall be conducted in the
62	62	State of Oklahoma in a technology center approved by the Oklahoma

89	89	Department of Career and Technology Education , a nationally
90	90	accredited college, or an accredited college or university and shall
91	91	meet the standards fixed by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing as
92	92	prescribed in its rules unless otherwise prescrib ed in the Oklahoma
93	93	Nursing Practice Act. Length of approved diploma RN programs shall
94	94	be:
95	95	1. Standalone diploma programs for registered nurses shal l have
96	96	a minimum of one thousand three hundred (1,300) clock hours, but not
97	97	to exceed one thousand five hun dred (1,500) clock hours, in nursing
98	98	education. This shall include nursing education consisting of
99	99	didactic, laboratory, and clinical courses. Additional required
100	100	non-nursing coursework shall not exceed three hundred thirty ( 330)
101	101	clock hours or twenty-one (21) credit hours;
102	102	2. LPN to diploma RN ladder programs awarding credit to
103	103	Licensed Practical Nurses shall have a minimum of six hundred (600)
104	104	clock hours beyond the practical nursing education, but not to
105	105	exceed seven hundred (700) clock hours in nursi ng education. This
106	106	shall include nursing education c onsisting of didactic, laboratory,
107	107	and clinical courses. Additional required non -nursing coursework
108	108	shall not exceed three hundred thirty (330) clock hours or twenty-
109	109	one (21) credit hours and may includ e non-nursing coursework
110	110	completed in practical nurs ing education.
111	111	C. To qualify in this state as an approved program for
112	112	practical nurses, the program shall be c onducted in this state in a

139	139	school or skill center approved by the Oklahoma Department of Car eer
140	140	and Technology Education or licensed by the Oklahoma Board of
141	141	Private Vocational Schools. Such programs shall meet the standards
142	142	fixed by the Oklahoma Board o f Nursing as prescribed in its rules,
143	143	which shall conform to the provisions of this subsectio n.
144	144	SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.
