4963 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
5064 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 70 O.S. 2021 , Section 11-107.1, is
5165 amended to read as follows:
52-Section 11-107.1 A. Each Beginning with the 202 8-2029 school
53-year, any school district in this state may offer a remediation
54-course shall provide academic support for high school students
55-juniors and seniors who score below a nineteen (19) on the
56-benchmarks on subject-area portions of the American College Te sting
57-(ACT) exam or below an equivalent score scores on the SAT Scholastic
58-Aptitude Test (SAT) exam in the most recent year for which student
59-performance data is available .

86-B. Academic support required by subsection A of this section
87-may include but is not lim ited to:
97+American College Testing (ACT) exam or below an equivalent score
98+scores on the SAT Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) exam in the most
99+recent year for which student performance data is available .
100+B. Remediation required by subsection A of this section may
101+include but is not lim ited to:
88102 1. Extended instructional time during the school day;
89103 2. A summer academy;
90104 3. Tutoring;
91105 4. Online coursework;
92106 5. Repetition of any course in which the student has
93107 demonstrated academic deficiency by scoring below the benchmarks in
94108 subject-area portions of the ACT or below equivalent scores on the
95-SAT;
96-6. Any course designed to ad dress areas of deficiency ; or
97-7. Any other means of ac ademic support.
109+SAT; or
110+6. Any course designed to address areas of deficiency .
98111 C. Nothing in subsection A of this section shall be construed
99112 to require that a teacher providing instruction in the remediation
100-course academic support be certified in any subject matter that is
101-tested on the ACT or SAT exam.
102-D. Students receiving academic support as required by
103-subsection A of this section shall not be excluded from
104-participating in extracurricu lar activities or enrolling in
105-technology center school distric t courses or programs.
106-E. The State Board of Education may promulgate rules to
113+course be certified in any subject matter that i s tested on the ACT
114+or SAT exam.
115+D. The State Board of Education may promulgate rules to
107116 implement the provisions of this section.
108-SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.

119+of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
