5252 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
5353 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
5454 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 18-114.15 of Title 70, unless
5555 there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
5656 A. Beginning with the 2023-2024 school year, each school
5757 district shall provide to every classroom teacher a salary increase
5858 of twenty percent (20%) over the base amount the employee earned
5959 during the 2022-2023 school year if the classroom teacher is
6060 employed by the same school district for the 2023-2024 school year.
6161 If a classroom teacher is a new e mployee of the school district, his
6262 or her starting salary shall be a twenty -percent increase from the

9191 B. The increase prescribed by this section shall be in addition
9292 to any other compensation, increase in compensati on, and fringe
9393 benefits provided by the school district or state, or mandated by
9494 law or collective bargaining agreement, unless the hours or duties
9595 of the classroom teacher are reduced proportionately.
9696 C. For purposes of t his section, "classroom teacher" means a
9797 teacher as defined in paragraph 1 of Section 1-116 of Title 70 of
9898 the Oklahoma Statutes, except for superintendents as defined in
9999 paragraph 2 of Section 1 -116 of Title 70 of the Oklahoma Statutes.
100100 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2023.
101101 SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
102102 of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
103103 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
104104 be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
