4141 An Act relating to state government; creating the

5353 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
5454 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
5555 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 11100 of Title 74, unless there
5656 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
5757 A. There is hereby created the Oklahoma Holocaust Commission.
5858 The Commission shall be composed of nine (9) members as follows:
5959 1. Three appointed by the Governor ;
6060 2. Three appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Oklahoma
6161 State Senate; and
6262 3. Three appointed by the Speaker of the Oklahoma House of

9191 B. The Governor shall a ppoint the chair of the Commission from
9292 within the membership of the Commission. Two-thirds of the members
9393 shall constitute a quorum for the purpose of conducting business.
9494 The Commission shall meet at lea st quarterly and at such other times
9595 as may be called by the chair.
9696 C. Members of the Commission shall receive no compensation for
9797 serving on the Commission but shall receive travel reimbursement for
9898 necessary travel expenses incurred in the performance o f their
9999 duties by their respective agencies in accordance with the State
100100 Travel Reimbursement Act.
101101 D. The duties and responsibilities of the Oklahoma Holocaust
102102 Commission are as follows:
103103 1. Providing advice and assistance to pu blic and private
104104 primary schools, secondary schools, and institutions of hig her
105105 education in the state regarding anti-Semitism and the Holocaust;
106106 2. Meeting with representatives of public and private
107107 organizations to provide information on and assist in efforts of the
108108 organizations to plan, create, and implement anti -Semitism awareness
109109 programs and Holocaust recognition programs or events; and
110110 3. Annually planning and organizing a Holocaust remembrance
111111 event to educate the public about the Jewish Holocaust.
112112 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.
