41	41	A Joint Resolution directing the S ecretary of State
42	42	to refer to the people f or their approval or
43	43	rejection a proposed amen dment to Section 23 of
44	44	Article V of the Oklahoma Constitution; allowing a
45	45	member of the Legislature to be employed as a
46	46	certified teacher with a public school district in
47	47	this state after completion of certain term; making
48	48	language gender neutral; providing ballot title; and

53	53	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND THE SENATE OF THE
54	54	1ST SESSION OF THE 59TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:
55	55	SECTION 1. The Secretary of State shall refer to the people for
56	56	their approval or rejection, as and in the manner provided by law,
57	57	the following proposed amendment to Section 23 of Article V of the
58	58	Constitution of the State of Oklahoma to read as follows:
59	59	Section 23. No A. Except as provided for in subsection B of
60	60	this section, no member of the Legislature shall, during the term
61	61	for which he or she was elected, be appointed or elected to any
62	62	office or commission in the State, which shall have been created, or
63	63	the emoluments of which shall have been increased, during his or her

90	90	term of office, nor shall any member receive any appointment from
91	91	the Governor, the Governor and Senate, or from the Legislature,
92	92	during the term for which he or she shall have been elected, nor
93	93	shall any member, dur ing the term for which he or she shall have
94	94	been elected, or within two years thereafter, be interested,
95	95	directly or indirectly, in any contract with the State, or any
96	96	county or other subdivision thereof, authorized by law passed during
97	97	the term for which he or she shall have been elected.
98	98	B. The provisions of this section shall not prohibit a member
99	99	of the Legislature from being employed as a certified teacher by a
100	100	public school district in this state after completing the term to
101	101	which he or she was elected.
102	102	SECTION 2. The Ballot Title for the proposed Constitutional
103	103	amendment as set forth in SECTION 1 of this resolution shall be in
104	104	the following form:

107	107	THE GIST OF THE PROPOSITION IS AS FOLLOWS:
108	108	This measure amends Section 23 of Article 5 of the Oklahoma
109	109	Constitution. It allows a member of the Legislature to be
110	110	employed as a certified teacher with a public school district in
111	111	this state after he or she completes his or her term in office.

141	141	SECTION 3. The Speaker of the House of Representatives shall,
142	142	immediately after the passage of this resolution, prepare and file
143	143	one copy thereof, including t he Ballot Title set forth in SECTION 2
