7777 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
7878 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 353.3, is
7979 amended to read as follows:
8080 Section 353.3. A. The State Board of Pharmacy shall consist of
8181 six (6) persons, five who shall be licensed as pharmacists by this
8282 state and one who shall be a public member.
8383 1. The pharmacist members shall be appointed by the Governor by
8484 and with the advice and consent of the Senate and shall:
8585 a. be registered and in good standing in the State of

138138 b. have been actively engaged in the practice of pharmac y
139139 within this state for a period of not less than fi ve
140140 (5) years immediately prior to serving on the Board.
141141 2. The public member shall be appointed by the Governor and
142142 shall:
143143 a. be a resident of the State of Oklahoma this state for
144144 not less than five (5) years, and
145145 b. not be a pharmacist or be related by blood or mar riage
146146 within the third degree of consanguinity to a
147147 pharmacist.
148148 B. The present members of the Board shall be appointed for a
149149 term of five (5) years. The public member of the Board shall serve
150150 a term coterminous with the Governor and shall serve at the pl easure
151151 of the Governor. The terms of the members of the Board shall expire
152152 on the 30th day of June of the year designated for the expiration of
153153 the term for which appointed but the member shal l serve until a
154154 qualified successor has been duly appointed. N o person shall be
155155 appointed to serve more than two consecutive terms . Appointments of
156156 pharmacists to the Board shall be made from a list of ten (10) names
157157 representative of the pharmacy profes sion submitted annually by the
158158 Executive Director of the Oklaho ma Pharmacists Association after an
159159 election has been held by mail ballot . In selecting appointees, the
160160 Governor may consider recommendations from a statewide organization
161161 representing pharmacists, a state chapter of a natio nal organization
