7575 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
7676 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 624, is
7777 amended to read as follows:
7878 Section 624. A. There is hereby re -created the State Board of
7979 Osteopathic Examiners to continue until July 1, 2024, in accordance
8080 with the provisions of the Oklaho ma Sunset Law.
8181 B. The State Board of Osteopathic Examiners shall consist of
8282 eight (8) examiners appointed by the Governor, two of whom shall be
8383 lay persons. The remaining examiners shall be regularly licensed
8484 osteopathic physicians in good standing in th is state who have been
8585 so engaged for a period of at least five (5) years immediately prior
8686 to their appointment . The osteopathic physician examiners shall be
8787 appointed by the Governor from a list of not less than six names

140140 annually, and any present member of the Board of E xaminers shall be
141141 appointed to fill out the unexpired term . All appointments made to
142142 the Board shall be for terms of seven (7) years. In the event of a
143143 vacancy brought about for any reason, t he Governor shall fill the
144144 post so vacated shall be filled from a list of not less than six
145145 names submitted by the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association . In
146146 selecting appointees, the Governor may consider reco mmendations from
147147 a statewide organization represe nting osteopathic physicians , a
148148 state chapter of a natio nal organization representing osteopathic
149149 physicians, or other groups or individuals in this state .
150150 C. The Board shall have and use a common seal, and make and
151151 adopt all necessary rules relating to the enforcement of the
152152 provisions of the Oklahoma Osteopathic Medi cine Act. Each Board
153153 member shall receive the daily per diem rate for state employees.
154154 Travel expenses allowed under the State Travel Reimbu rsement Act
155155 shall also be provided to Board members traveling more than fifty
156156 (50) miles to the location of all reg ular and special Board
157157 meetings.
158158 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.
