67	67	relates to the State Board of Osteopa thic Examiners;
68	68	removing certain limitation on appointees; permitting
69	69	the Governor to consider certain recommenda tions; and

75	75	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
76	76	SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 624, is
77	77	amended to read as follows:
78	78	Section 624. A. There is hereby re -created the State Board of
79	79	Osteopathic Examiners to continue until July 1, 2024, in accordance
80	80	with the provisions of the Oklaho ma Sunset Law.
81	81	B. The State Board of Osteopathic Examiners shall consist of
82	82	eight (8) examiners appointed by the Governor, two of whom shall be
83	83	lay persons. The remaining examiners shall be regularly licensed
84	84	osteopathic physicians in good standing in th is state who have been
85	85	so engaged for a period of at least five (5) years immediately prior
86	86	to their appointment . The osteopathic physician examiners shall be
87	87	appointed by the Governor from a list of not less than six names

139	139	submitted to the Governor by th e Oklahoma Osteopathic Association
140	140	annually, and any present member of the Board of E xaminers shall be
141	141	appointed to fill out the unexpired term . All appointments made to
142	142	the Board shall be for terms of seven (7) years. In the event of a
143	143	vacancy brought about for any reason, t he Governor shall fill the
144	144	post so vacated shall be filled from a list of not less than six
145	145	names submitted by the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association . In
146	146	selecting appointees, the Governor may consider reco mmendations from
147	147	a statewide organization represe nting osteopathic physicians , a
148	148	state chapter of a natio nal organization representing osteopathic
149	149	physicians, or other groups or individuals in this state .
150	150	C. The Board shall have and use a common seal, and make and
151	151	adopt all necessary rules relating to the enforcement of the
152	152	provisions of the Oklahoma Osteopathic Medi cine Act. Each Board
153	153	member shall receive the daily per diem rate for state employees.
154	154	Travel expenses allowed under the State Travel Reimbu rsement Act
155	155	shall also be provided to Board members traveling more than fifty
156	156	(50) miles to the location of all reg ular and special Board
157	157	meetings.
158	158	SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.
