5950 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
6051 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
6152 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 63.23 of Title 72, unless there
6253 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
6354 A. The Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs shall serve as
6455 the state’s principal assistance organization under the United
6556 States Department of Defense ’s SkillBridge program for employers and
6657 transitioning servicemem bers.
58+B. As the state’s principal assistance organization under the
59+United States Department of Defense’s SkillBridge program for
60+qualified businesses in this state and for transitioning
61+servicemembers who reside in, or who wish to reside in, this state,
62+the Department shall:

94-B. As the state’s principal assistance organization under the
95-United States Department of Defense’s SkillBridge program for
96-qualified businesses in this state and for transitioning
97-servicemembers who reside in, or who wish to resi de in, this state,
98-the Department shall:
9989 1. Establish and maintain, as applicable, its ce rtification for
10090 the SkillBridge program or any other similar workforce tr aining and
10191 transition programs established b y the United States Department of
10292 Defense;
10393 2. Educate businesses, business associations, and transitioning
10494 servicemembers on the SkillBrid ge program and its benefits, and
10595 educate military command and personnel within the state on
10696 opportunities available to transitionin g servicemembers through the
10797 SkillBridge program;
10898 3. Assist businesses in obtaining approval for skilled
10999 workforce training curricula under the SkillBridge program,
110100 including, but not limited to, app renticeships, internships, or
111101 fellowships; and
112102 4. Match transitioning servicemembers who are deemed eligible
113103 for SkillBridge participation by their mili tary command with
114104 training opportunities offered by the corporation or participating
115105 businesses, with the intent of having transitioning servicemembers
116106 achieve gainful employment in this state u pon completion of th eir
117107 SkillBridge training.
