39	65		An Act relating to meat and poultry inspections;
40	66		authorizing the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture,
41	67		Food, and Forestry to review methods of remote
42	68		viewing or other digital inspection; requiring the
43	69		Department to apply for use of inspection technology
44	70		from the applicable federal agency; providing f or
45	71		promulgation of rules; limiting remote inspections to
46	72		intrastate commerce unless otherwise approved;
47	73		requiring the Department to keep videos confidential;
48	74		providing for codification; and providing an
49	75		effective date.

55	81		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
56	82		SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
57	83		in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 6-181.2 of Title 2, unless there
58	84		is created a duplication in nu mbering, reads as follows:
59	85		A. The Oklahoma Departme nt of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry
60	86		shall review methods of remo te viewing or other digital inspection
61	87		technology for meat and poultry product inspections.
62	88		B. If the Department determines a suitable method of remote
63	89		viewing or other digital inspection t echnology upon completion of
64	90		the review, then the Department shall make application to the

94	144		C. Upon approval by the federal agency g overning meat and
95	145		poultry inspection, the Department shall promulgate rules to
96	146		implement the use of remote viewing or other digital inspection
97	147		technology.
98	148		D. The use of remote viewing or other digital inspection
99	149		technology shall be restricted to inspections of meat and poultry
100	150		products sold only in intrastate commerce, unless the federal agency
101	151		governing meat and poultry inspection approves it for interstate
102	152		commerce.
103	153		E. The videos from remote viewing or digital inspection
104	154		obtained pursuant to this section shall be kept confidential by the
105	155		Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry.
106	156		SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.
