81	81	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE S TATE OF OKLAHOMA:
82	82	SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 72 O.S. 2021, Section 221, as
83	83	amended by Section 10, Chapter 83, O.S.L. 2022 (72 O.S. Supp. 2022,
84	84	Section 221), is amended to read as follows:
85	85	Section 221. A. There is hereby established at Sulphur,
86	86	Oklahoma, on the site of the former Oklahoma State Veterans
87	87	Hospital, and the State Veterans Home of Su lphur. The Oklahoma
88	88	Veterans Commission is authorized to renov ate and repurpose the
89	89	State Veterans Home of Sulphur to specialize in services supporting
90	90	the long-term care needs of veterans who require both nursing home

143	143	Veterans Affairs is authorized to obtain such licensure,
144	144	certification, accredi tation, partnerships, contract se rvices,
145	145	infrastructure, or staffing as is beneficial or necessary to provide
146	146	advanced services to veterans requiring specialized cognitive care.
147	147	B. There is hereby established at Ardmore, Oklahoma, on the
148	148	site of the Oklahoma State Veterans Home Facilities, and at Norman,
149	149	Oklahoma, on the site of the Veterans Ward of the Griffin Memorial
150	150	Hospital, further described as follows:
151	151	Starting at the Southeast corner of the N ortheast Quarter (NE
152	152	1/4) of Section twenty -nine (29), Township nine (9) North, Range two
153	153	(2) West, of the Indian Meridian; thence North seventeen hundred
154	154	(1700) feet to a point on the East boundary of Section twenty-nine
155	155	(29), Township nine (9) North, Ran ge two (2) West; thence West six
156	156	hundred (600) feet; t hence South eight hundred fifty (850) feet;
157	157	thence West three hundred twenty-five (325) feet; thence South four
158	158	hundred (400) feet; thence in a Southwest direction five hundred
159	159	forty (540) feet to a poi nt on the South boundary of the Northeast
160	160	Quarter (NE 1/4) of Section twenty-nine (29), Township nine (9)
161	161	North, Range two (2) West of the Indian Meridian; thence East a
162	162	distance of one thousand two hundred twenty-three (1,223) feet to
163	163	the point of beginni ng;
164	164	facilities to be known as the State Veterans Homes (for the purpose
165	165	of securing special treatment or hospitalizatio n the adjoining

217	217	facilities of Griffin Memorial Hospital shall be considered an
218	218	integral part of the State Veterans Homes at Norman, and may be
219	219	utilized to care for eligible veterans), whi ch shall be available
220	220	for care of war veterans discharged other than under dishonorable
221	221	conditions. Further provided such centers shall be under the
222	222	administration and control of the Oklahoma Veterans Commis sion
223	223	pursuant to Section 229.1 of this title, the S tate Veterans Home of
224	224	Ardmore.
225	225	C. The State Veterans Homes establish ed in this section shall
226	226	be under the administration and control of the Oklahoma Veterans
227	227	Commission. No person discharged from military service with a
228	228	dishonorable discharge shall be admitted to the State Veterans Homes
229	229	established in this section. Any person adjudged to b e criminally
230	230	insane or in the custody of the Department of Corrections s hall not
231	231	be placed in the custo dy of a State Vetera ns Home.
232	232	SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.
