	38	+	An Act relating to teachers; requiring certain
	39	+	teachers who take and pass certain examination to be
	40	+	reimbursed certain amount; providing for
	41	+	codification; providing an effective date; and

52	46		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
53	47		SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law t o be codified
54	48		in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 6-101.9 of Title 70, unless
55	49		there is created a duplication in numb ering, reads as follo ws:
56	50		A teacher who is certified pursuant to Section 6-122.3 or 6-187
57	51		of Title 70 of the Oklahoma Statutes and who, at the request of the
58	52		employing school district, takes and pas ses a subject area
59	53		competency examination required by Section 6-187 of Title 70 of the
60	54		Oklahoma Statutes to earn certification and teach an additional
61	55		subject in the school district shall be reimburs ed by the school
	56	+	district. The reimbursement shall be an amount equal to the cost of
	57	+	the subject area competency examination.
	58	+	SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2023.
	59	+	SECTION 3. It being immediately necess ary for the preservation
	60	+	of the public peace, health , or safety, an emergency is hereby
