7373 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
7474 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be cod ified
7575 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 3.2 of Titl e 43, unless there is
7676 created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
7777 On or after the effective date of this act , a common-law
7878 marriage in this state shall not be recognized as a valid form of
7979 marriage in this state; provided, however, any commo n-law marriage
8080 recognized as valid b y a court of competent jurisdiction prior to
8181 the effective date of this act shall continue to be recognized as
8282 valid in this state.
8383 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.
