73	73	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
74	74	SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be cod ified
75	75	in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 3.2 of Titl e 43, unless there is
76	76	created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
77	77	On or after the effective date of this act , a common-law
78	78	marriage in this state shall not be recognized as a valid form of
79	79	marriage in this state; provided, however, any commo n-law marriage
80	80	recognized as valid b y a court of competent jurisdiction prior to
81	81	the effective date of this act shall continue to be recognized as
82	82	valid in this state.
83	83	SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.
