8181 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA :
8282 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
8383 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1222 of Title 19, unless there
8484 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
8585 A. An Oklahoma licensed ambulance service is hereb y designated
8686 as an essential service in this state.
8787 B. Each county governing body in this state shall ensure that
8888 at least one licensed ambulance service is available within the
8989 county. If the county is a public ambulance service district
9090 organized under the Ambulance Service Districts Act , the board of

142142 directors of the district is designated as the agency with authority
143143 to ensure ambulance services.
144144 C. A county shall appropriate county revenues for ambulance
145145 service if the service cannot be provided by any other means.
146146 Counties that are currently estab lished as a public ambulance
147147 service district shall be deemed to have met this requirement.
148148 D. A municipality may not provide , maintain, license,
149149 franchise, or contrac t for ambulance service within the bo undaries
150150 of a county that has established a public ambulance service
151151 district, without a contract with the board of directors of the
152152 district.
153153 SECTION 2. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
154154 of the public peace, health or sa fety, an emergency is hereby
155155 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
156156 be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
