77	77	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTA TIVES OF THE
78	78	1ST SESSION OF THE 59TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:
79	79	SECTION 1. The Secretary of State shall refer to the people for
80	80	their approval or rejection, as and in the manner provided by law,
81	81	the following proposed amendment to Section 23 of Article V of the
82	82	Oklahoma Constitution to read as follows:
83	83	Section 23. No A. Except as provided for in subsection B of
84	84	this section, no member of the Legislature shall, during the term
85	85	for which he or she was elected, be appointed or elected to any
86	86	office or commission in the State, which shall have been created, or
87	87	the emoluments of which shall have been increased, during his or her
88	88	term of office, nor shall any member receive any appointment from

140	140	the Governor, the Governor and Senate, or from the Legislat ure,
141	141	during the term for which he or she shall have been elected, nor
142	142	shall any member, during the ter m for which he or she shall have
143	143	been elected, or within two years thereafter, be interested,
144	144	directly or indirectly, in a ny contract with the State, or a ny
145	145	county or other subdivision thereof, authorized by law passed during
146	146	the term for which he or she shall have been elected.
147	147	B. The provisions of this section shall not operate to prohibit
148	148	a member of the Legislature from being employed as a certified
149	149	teacher by a public school district in this state after completing
150	150	the term to which he or she was elect ed.
151	151	SECTION 2. The Ballot Title for the proposed Constitutional
152	152	amendment as set forth in SECTION 1 of this resolution shall be in
153	153	the following form:

156	156	THE GIST OF THE PROPOSITION IS AS FOLLOWS:
157	157	This measure amends Section 2 3 of Article 5 of the Oklahoma
158	158	Constitution. It allows a member of the Legislature to be
159	159	employed as a certified teacher with a public school district in
160	160	this state after he or she completes his or her term in office.
