HOUSE BILL 1468 By: Sneed
AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to state government; enacting the
State Energy Freedom Act; providing that the
development, production, distribution and sale of any
energy products shall be determined by the State
Legislature; reserving the exclusive right to enter
into an energy compact; prohibiting restrictions by
the federal government or agencies; providing for
codification; and declaring an emergency.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEO PLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1400 of Title 74, unless there
is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
A. This act shall be known and may be cited as the "State
Energy Freedom Act".
B. The development, production, distribution , and sale of any
energy products shall be solely determined by the Oklahoma State
Legislature. No state or federal agency or body shall interfere
with these actions.
C. The State of Oklahoma reserves the exclusive right to enter
into energy compact with any other state and shall not be subject to

restrictions imposed by the federal government or any federal
agency.
SECTION 2. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
be in full force from and after its passage an d approval.
