53 | 56 | | SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 51 O.S. 2021, Section 24A.16, is |

97 | 101 | | Title 34 of the Code of Federal Regulations, "directory information" |

98 | 102 | | includes a student's name, address, telephone listing, date and |
---|
99 | 103 | | place of birth, major fie ld of study, participation in officially |
---|
100 | 104 | | recognized activities and sports, weight an d height of members of |
---|
101 | 105 | | athletic teams, dates of attendance, degrees and awards received, |
---|
102 | 106 | | and the most recent previous educational institution a ttended by the |
---|
103 | 107 | | student. Any educational agency or institution making public |
---|
104 | 108 | | directory information shall give pub lic notice of the categories of |
---|
105 | 109 | | information which it has designated as director y information with |
---|
106 | 110 | | respect to each student attending the institu tion or agency and |
---|
107 | 111 | | shall allow a reasonable period of time after the notice has been |
---|
108 | 112 | | given for a parent to inform the institution or agency that any o r |
---|
109 | 113 | | all of the information designated should not be released without |
---|
110 | 114 | | prior consent of the parent or guardian or the student if the |
---|
111 | 115 | | student is eighteen (18) years of age or older. |

144 | 149 | | Privacy Act, Section 1232g of Title 20 of the United States Code and |

145 | 150 | | Part 99 of Title 34 of the Code of Federal Regulations, or Section |

146 | 151 | | 3-168 of Title 70 of t he Oklahoma Statutes. |

147 | 152 | | D. A public school district may release individual stu dent |
---|
148 | 153 | | records for the current or previous school year to a school d istrict |
---|
149 | 154 | | at which the student was previously enrolled for purposes of |
---|
150 | 155 | | evaluating educational programs and school e ffectiveness. |
---|
151 | 156 | | SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2023. |
---|
