AS INTRODUCED 
 
An Act relating to crimes and punishments; making 
certain acts unlawful; providing penalties; defining 
term; providing for codification; and providing an 
effective date. 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     NEW LAW     A new section of law to be codified 
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 593 of Title 21, unless there is 
created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: 
A.  It shall be unlawful for a judge of any court in this state 
to engage in a sexual relationship with a lawyer who is: 
1.  Representing a client in a civil or criminal action or 
proceeding; or 
2.  Prosecuting a criminal case on behalf of the state or a 
municipality, 
then pending or about to be brought before the same judge.  A judge 
who violates the provisions of this section shall, upon conviction, 
be guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonm ent in the custody of 
the Department of Corrections for a term of not more than two (2)

years, or a fine of not less than Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) 
and not exceeding One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00), or by 
both such fine and imprisonment. 
B.  As used in this section, "sexual relationship" means an 
established course of sexual relations. 
SECTION 2.  This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.
