2553 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

2754 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 475.3 , is
2855 amended to read as follows:

3056 Section 475.3 A. The State Board of Licensure for Professional
3157 Engineers and Land Surveyors is hereby re -created, to continue until
3258 July 1, 2023 2026, in accordance with the provisions of the Oklahoma
3359 Sunset Law, whose du ty it shall be to administer the provisions of
3460 Section 475.1 et seq. of this title. The Board shall consist of
3561 four professional engineers and two professional land surveyors, at
3662 least one of whom is no t a professional engineer, all of whom shall
3763 be appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the
3864 Oklahoma State Senate. The Governor shall also appoint one lay

3992 member. The professional engineers and professional land surveyors
4093 shall be appointed by the Governor and shall have the qualifications
4194 required by Section 475.4 of this title.

4395 B. Each member of the Board shall file with the Secretary of
4496 State a written oath or affirmation for the faithful discharge of

4698 C. Appointments to the Board shall be in such manner and for
4799 such period of time so that no two terms, with the exception of the
48100 lay member, shall expire in the same year. On the expiration of the
49101 term of any member, except the lay member, the Governor shall in the
50102 manner herein provided appoint for a term of six (6) years a
51103 professional engineer or professional land surveyor having the
52104 qualifications required in Section 475.4 of this title. The lay
53105 member of the Board shall be appointed by the Governor to a term
54106 coterminous with that of the Governor. The lay member shall serve
55107 at the pleasure of the Governor. Provided, the lay member may
56108 continue to serve after the expiration of the member 's term until
57109 such time as a successor is appointed. Members may be reappointe d
58110 to succeed themselves. Each member may hold office until the
59111 expiration of the term for which appointed or until a successor has
60112 been duly appointed and has qualified. In the event of a vacancy on
61113 the Board due to resignation, death or for any cause re sulting in an
62114 unexpired term, if not filled within three (3) months, the Board may
