25	53		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

27	54		SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 475.3 , is
28	55		amended to read as follows:

30	56		Section 475.3 A. The State Board of Licensure for Professional
31	57		Engineers and Land Surveyors is hereby re -created, to continue until
32	58		July 1, 2023 2026, in accordance with the provisions of the Oklahoma
33	59		Sunset Law, whose du ty it shall be to administer the provisions of
34	60		Section 475.1 et seq. of this title. The Board shall consist of
35	61		four professional engineers and two professional land surveyors, at
36	62		least one of whom is no t a professional engineer, all of whom shall
37	63		be appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the
38	64		Oklahoma State Senate. The Governor shall also appoint one lay

39	92		member. The professional engineers and professional land surveyors
40	93		shall be appointed by the Governor and shall have the qualifications
41	94		required by Section 475.4 of this title.

43	95		B. Each member of the Board shall file with the Secretary of
44	96		State a written oath or affirmation for the faithful discharge of

46	98		C. Appointments to the Board shall be in such manner and for
47	99		such period of time so that no two terms, with the exception of the
48	100		lay member, shall expire in the same year. On the expiration of the
49	101		term of any member, except the lay member, the Governor shall in the
50	102		manner herein provided appoint for a term of six (6) years a
51	103		professional engineer or professional land surveyor having the
52	104		qualifications required in Section 475.4 of this title. The lay
53	105		member of the Board shall be appointed by the Governor to a term
54	106		coterminous with that of the Governor. The lay member shall serve
55	107		at the pleasure of the Governor. Provided, the lay member may
56	108		continue to serve after the expiration of the member 's term until
57	109		such time as a successor is appointed. Members may be reappointe d
58	110		to succeed themselves. Each member may hold office until the
59	111		expiration of the term for which appointed or until a successor has
60	112		been duly appointed and has qualified. In the event of a vacancy on
61	113		the Board due to resignation, death or for any cause re sulting in an
62	114		unexpired term, if not filled within three (3) months, the Board may
