2461 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Sectio n 582, is

2763 Section 582. There is hereby re-created, to continue until July
2864 1, 2023 July 1, 2026, in accordance with the provisions of the
2965 Oklahoma Sunset Law, the Board of Examiners in Optometry. This
3066 Board shall consist of fiv e (5) persons, four of whom shall possess
3167 sufficient knowledge of theoretical and practical optics to practice

3294 optometry, be duly licensed as optometrists, and who shall have been
3395 residents of this sta te actually engaged in the practice of
3496 optometry for at least five (5) years. The term of each licensed
3597 optometrist member of the Board, one being appointed each year,
3698 shall be five (5) years, or until a qualified successor is
3799 appointed. The lay member o f the Board shall serve a term
38100 coterminous with that of the Governor and shall serve at the
39101 pleasure of the Governor. The Governor is hereby authorized to
40102 appoint a member of the Board of Examiners in Optometry at the
41103 expiration of any term or whenever, f or any reason, a vacancy may
42104 occur on said the Board. Vacancies shall be filled for the
43105 unexpired term only.

45106 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2023.

48108 of the public peace, health or safety, an emerg ency is hereby

200+BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
201+SECTION 4. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 582, is
202+amended to read as follows:
203+Section 582. There is hereby re-created, to continue until July

205+Law, the Board of Examiners in Opt ometry. This Board shall consist
