7777 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
7878 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 47 O.S. 2021, Section 11 -406, is
7979 amended to read as follows:
8080 Section 11-406. A. A farm tractor, as defined in Section 1 -118
8181 of this title, or any implement of hu sbandry, as defined in Section
8282 1-125 of this title, except trailers and semitrailers when operated
8383 in accordance with statutory limits or pr ovisions of Section 14 -101
8484 of this title, shall not be permitted to travel upon any highway in
8585 this state which is a part of the National System of Intersta te and
8686 Defense Highways. However, the Department of Public Safety shall
8787 have the authority to permi t such travel in certain geographic areas
8888 of the state as deemed necessary. Such tractor or implement may be

140140 operated on any other roadway in this state if the operator has
141141 attached all the safety devices required by law and has taken
142142 reasonable steps to reduce the width of the t ractor or implement as
143143 provided for by the manufacturer. Whenever the width of a farm
144144 tractor or implement of husbandry exceeds th e width of that portion
145145 of a roadway on which the tractor or implement is driven, which is
146146 marked as a single lane of traffic , or, if the roadway has not been
147147 marked for lanes of traffic and the width of the tractor or
148148 implement exceeds more than fifty per cent (50%) of the width of the
149149 roadway, the operator shall move the tractor or implement, as soon
150150 as possible, as far to the right-hand side of the roadway as is
151151 practicable and safe upon approach of any oncoming or following
152152 vehicle and upon approaching t he crest of a hill. A farm tractor or
153153 any implement of husbandry shall be ex empt from the vehicle escort
154154 requirements of Section 14-120.1 of this title provided it is
155155 operated in a manner con sistent with this section.
156156 B. Upon the immediate approach of a farm tractor or implement
157157 of husbandry which cannot be moved by the operator thereof to the
158158 far right-hand side of the roa dway, as required in subsection A of
159159 this section, due to the existence of any bridge or gua rdrail, sign
160160 or any other physical imped iment which would not safely allow such
161161 tractor or implement to travel on the far right -hand side of the
162162 road, the driver of every other vehicle shall yield the right -of-way
163163 and shall immediately pull over to the far right-hand side of the

216216 passed.
217217 C. This section shall not operate to reli eve any operator of a
218218 farm tractor or implement of husbandry from the duty to drive with
219219 due regard for the safety of all persons using the roadway.
220220 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2024.
