7979 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
8080 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law not to be
8181 codified in the Oklahoma Statu tes reads as follows:
8282 A. This act shall be known and may be cited as the "Enhanced
8383 Accessibility and Accommodation in Petition Signing Act ".
8484 B. This legislation seeks to improve accessibility for
8585 individuals needing accommodation to participate in the initiative
8686 and referendum petition process by providing additional space for
8787 signatures and allowing designated individuals to assist in
8888 completing petition information.

140140 SECTION 2. AMENDATORY 34 O.S. 2021, Section 3, i s

142142 Section 3. A. Each initiative petition and each referendum
143143 petition shall be duplicated for the securing of signatures. The
144144 Secretary of State shall design a form, subject to change, f or
145145 signatures that shall be used by propo nents of initiatives or
146146 referendums when collect ing signatures, and each sheet for
147147 signatures shall be attached to a copy of the petition. Each copy
148148 of the petition and sheets for signatures is hereinafter termed a
149149 pamphlet. On the outer page of each pam phlet shall be printed the
150150 word "Warning", and underneath this in ten-point type the words, "It
151151 is a felony for anyone to sign an initiative or referendum petition
152152 with any name other than his or her own, or knowingly to sign his or
153153 her name more than once for the measu re, or to sign such petition
154154 when he or she is not a legal voter." A simple statement of the
155155 gist of the proposition shall be printed on the top margin of each
156156 signature sheet.
157157 B. In addition to the requirements of subsect ion A of this
158158 section, the Oklahoma Secretary of State shall design a form,
159159 subject to change, that includes larger designated spaces for
160160 signatures of individuals with motor control difficulties or visual
161161 impairment.
162162 C. Individuals requiring accommodation shall have the option to
163163 designate an individual to assist in filling out the required

216216 individuals shall be at least eighteen (18) years of age and may not
217217 influence or coerce the voter's choices, or sign on behalf of the
218218 voter. The mark of the voter that was used on the voter
219219 registration application shall be accepted as the vot er's signature.
