73	73	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
74	74	SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 26 O.S. 2021, Section 13A -106, is
75	75	amended to read as follows:
76	76	Section 13A-106. A. To be eligible to be a cand idate for
77	77	member of the board of education of a school district or technology
78	78	center school district, a person must have resided in the district
79	79	or, if the board seat is in an independent district, have resided in
80	80	that district for at least six (6) months preceding the first day of
81	81	the filing period, and have been a registered voter registered with
82	82	the county election board at an address located within the
83	83	geographical boundaries of the district for six (6) months p receding
84	84	the first day of the filing perio d. Beginning May 1, 1990, no
85	85	person shall be eligible to be a candidate for or elected to be a
86	86	member of the board of education of a school district or technology

140	140	districts that are divided into election districts, a candidate must
141	141	have resided in the district fo r at least six (6) months prece ding
142	142	the first day of the filing period a nd have been a registered voter

144	144	within the geographical boundaries of the election district for six
145	145	(6) months preceding the first day of the filing pe riod. Beginning

154	154	to vote in an election di strict election within a school district, a
155	155	person must be registered with the coun ty election board at an
156	156	address located within the geographical boundaries of the election
157	157	district.
158	158	C. In addition to the requirement s in subsection A of this
159	159	section, if a person resides in a dependent school district that
160	160	does not have a secondary school district, the person shall be
161	161	eligible to file as a candidate for the board of education of a
