76 | 76 | | SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new secti on of law to be codified |

79 | 79 | | A. There is hereby created until May 31, 2025, the Rethinking |

80 | 80 | | Paying Subminimal Wage to P ersons with Disabilities Task Force. |
---|
81 | 81 | | B. The Task Force shall study and develop a plan to phase out |

82 | 82 | | the practice of paying workers with disabilities subminimum wages |
---|
83 | 83 | | under 14(c) certificate programs in Oklahoma. The Task Force sh all |
---|
84 | 84 | | study, review, and make recommendations on the following, with a |
---|
85 | 85 | | focus on transitioning workers with disabilities currently being |
---|
86 | 86 | | paid subminimum wages under 14(c) certificates to competitive, |
---|
87 | 87 | | integrated employment at or above minimum wage , and when |

146 | 146 | | potential for successful transition to competitive, |

148 | 148 | | b. includes alternative meaningful day programs for those |

149 | 149 | | individuals who do not wish to transition to |
---|
150 | 150 | | competitive, integrated employment or for those for |

152 | 152 | | c. establishes an appro priate timeline for phasing out |

154 | 154 | | C. The Task Force shall consist of twenty (20) members as |

307 | 307 | | the Senate shall serve as co-chairs of the Task Force. Appoint ments |

380 | 380 | | E. Members of the Task Force shall receive no compensation for |
