BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 501 of Title 61, unless there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: A. Within eighteen (18) months from the effectiv e date of this act, each agency, board, commission, department or other state governmental entity shall install at least one facility within any publicly accessible restroom under the entit y's control consisting of a bidet which meets or exceeds the requirement for that type of facility pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act. The provisions of this section shall be applicable to the Oklahoma House of Representatives and to the Oklahoma State Senate for restrooms located within the State Capitol building. C. The provisions of this section shall be applicable to facilities owned by or under the control of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and to any of the buildings owned by or under the control of institutions within The Oklahoma State System of Higher Education. SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2024. SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, by reason whereof thi s act shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval. 59-2-8729 MAH 01/10/24
