66	66	the Lung Cancer Screening Progra m; providing the
67	67	purpose; directing the State Department of Health to

75	75	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF T HE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
76	76	SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
77	77	in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1-580 of Title 63, unless there
78	78	is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
79	79	A. A Lung Cancer Screening Program shall be created within the
80	80	State Department of Health. The program may provide grants to
81	81	National Cancer Institute (NCI)-Designated Cancer Centers for the
82	82	purpose of expanding mobile lung cancer screening services. The
83	83	program may provide funding for assessment, referral, consultation,
84	84	and screening for lung cancer, including equipment for m obile lung
85	85	cancer screening.
86	86	B. The Department may contract with entities to carry out the
87	87	purposes and functions of the Lung Cancer Screening Program and

139	139	shall establish standards and criteria for entities to be eligible
140	140	to contract with the Department.
141	141	C. The State Board of Health shall:
142	142	1. Promulgate rules necessary for the administration of the
143	143	Lung Cancer Screening Program; and
144	144	2. Establish evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness of
145	145	the Lung Cancer Screening P rogram.
146	146	D. The Lung Cancer Screening Program shall f ocus on increasing
147	147	the lung cancer screening rate for individuals who qualify as "high-
148	148	risk" per the United State Preventative Services Task Force.
149	149	SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2024.
