7979 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
8080 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
8181 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 14-108.2 of Title 26, unless
8282 there is created a duplication in numb ering, reads as follows:
8383 A. This act shall be know n and may be cited as the “Election
8484 Notary Accountability Act”.
8585 B. On or after the effective date of this act, within thirty
8686 (30) days after an election, each notary public shall submit a copy
8787 of his or her notary log required pursuant to subsection B of
8888 Section 14-108.1 of Title 26 of the Oklahoma Statutes covering the
8989 ninety (90) days preceding the election to the county election board

141141 of the notary’s residency for verific ation of the number of ballots
142142 notarized by the notary public. A notary public who does not comply
143143 with the requirements of this section shall be, upon conviction,
144144 guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a fine not to exceed Five
145145 Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per instance.
146146 C. A notary public who intent ionally provides a false copy of
147147 the notary log shall be subject to prosecution for election fraud.
148148 If the county election board determines that a notary has notarized
149149 more than the authorized number of ballots or violated any other
150150 provision of this act, the board shall notify the district attorney
151151 who shall investigate any possible crimi nal violation.
152152 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.
