3965 An Act relating to food; defining term; requiring

4773 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
4874 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
4975 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1-1118.2 of Title 63, unless
5076 there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as fo llows:
5177 A. As used in this section, “cell-cultured meat”, also referred
5278 to as lab-grown meat, cultivated meat, clean meat, in vitro meat,
5379 imitation meat, synthetic meat, and fak e meat, means meat developed
5480 from animal cell culture s rather than through traditional raising
5581 and slaughter of livestock. It does not include i mitation meat made
5682 of non-meat ingredients including, but not lim ited to, plant-based
5783 protein.
5884 B. A licensed food establishment shall not offer for sale any
5985 food or other product intended for human consumption that contains
60-cell-cultured meat unless the establishment is in compliance with
61-the rules promulgated under subsection C of this section.

137+cell-cultured meat unless the establishment is in compliance with
138+the rules promulgated under subsection C of this section.
89139 C. The State Commissioner of Health shall promulgate rules
90140 requiring licensed food establishments that offer for sale any food
91141 or other product intended for human consumption that contains cell-
92142 cultured meat to disclose such fact to customers, including
93143 specification of any and all food or products that contain cell-
94144 cultured meat. The rules may, as deemed necessary and appropriate
95145 by the Commissioner, pr escribe different requirements for different
96146 types of food establishments.
97147 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2024.
