45	75		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHO MA:
46	76		SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
47	77		in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1-241.1 of Title 63, unless
48	78		there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
49	79		A. This section shall be known and may be cited as the “Coach
50	80		Safely Act”.
51	81		B. As used in this section :
52	82		1. “Athletics personnel” means athletic directors and other
53	83		individuals actively involved in organizing, training, or coaching
54	84		sports activities for a youth sports association ;
55	85		2. “Coach” means any individual, whethe r paid, unpaid,
56	86		volunteer, or interim, who has bee n approved by a youth sports
57		-	association to organize, train, or supervise a youth athlete or team
58		-	of youth athletes;
59		-	3. “High-risk youth athletic activities ” means any organized
60		-	sport in which there is a significant possibility fo r a youth

	140	+	3. “High-risk youth athletic activities ” means any organized
	141	+	sport in which there is a significant possibility for a youth
88	142		athlete to sustain a serious physical injury including, but not
89	143		limited to, the sports of football, basketball, baseball,
90	144		volleyball, soccer, ice or field hockey, cheerleading, and lacrosse .
91	145		It does not include any schoo l-sponsored activities ;
92	146		4. “Youth athlete” means an individual age fourteen (14) years
93	147		and under participating in an organized s port; and
94	148		5. “Youth athletics association ” means any organization that
95	149		administers or conducts high -risk youth athletics activities on
96	150		property owned, leased, managed, or maint ained by the state, an
97	151		agent of the state, or a political subdivision of the state .
98	152		C. A youth athletics association that sponsors or conducts
99	153		sports training or high-risk youth athletic activities for youth
100	154		athletes shall require all coaches and athletic s personnel to:
101	155		1. Complete an online or residence course approved by the State
102	156		Department of Health, if available at no cost, which provides
103	157		information and awareness of actions and measures that may be used
104	158		to decrease the likelihood that a youth athlet e will sustain a
105	159		serious injury while engaged or participating in a high-risk youth
106	160		athletic activity; and
107		-	2. Sign a statement de veloped by the youth athletics
108		-	association attesting that the coach or perso nnel has completed the
109		-	course and understands the information provided by the course . The
110		-	signed statement shall be maintained by the association for as long
111		-	as the coach or personnel is affiliated with the association.
