39	65		An Act relating to wildlife; authorizing the
40	66		Department of Wildlife Conservation to produce
41	67		certain study; requiring distribution of re port to
42	68		the Legislature and Governor; specifying geographic
43	69		location for study; allowing the Department to use
44	70		certain sources for dat a; permitting Department to
45	71		enter into certain agreements to a ssist in data
46	72		collection; allowing for Department to make
47	73		recommendations; providing for codification ; and
48	74		providing an effective date .

53	79		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
54	80		SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
55	81		in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 3-316 of Title 29, unless there
56	82		is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
57	83		A. The Department of Wildlife Conservation shall produce an elk
58	84		population study to be presented electronically to the Legislature
59	85		and the Governor on or before a year following the effective d ate of
60	86		this act.
61	87		B. The study shall be used to det ermine Oklahoma’s elk
62	88		population in southeastern Oklahoma. The study may incorporate
63	89		information available in other sources, such as studies produced by
64		-	collegiate or federal resources , into an analysis of Oklahoma ’s elk
