81	81	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
82	82	SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 10 O.S. 2021, Section 405.4, is
83	83	amended to read as follows:
84	84	Section 405.4. A. Any person with a bachelor ’s degree or
85	85	postgraduate degree shall be considered as having met the
86	86	educational requirements for a director of a full -time child care
87	87	center required by the Department of Human Services. Nothing in
88	88	this section shall be construed as to affect annual continuing
89	89	education requirements. The director of a child care center may
90	90	also qualify as a master t eacher for children of all ages.

142	142	B. Any The continuing education requirements established by the
143	143	Department shall be on a two-year cycle.
144	144	C. Subject to the exemptions provided by subsection D of this
145	145	section, a person replacing a master teacher at a child care center
146	146	shall be granted a one -year probationary period to fulfill the
147	147	educational qualifications required by the Department for a master
148	148	teacher. The Department may extend the probationary period an
149	149	additional year as long as the person is actively pursuing that
150	150	goal.
151	151	D. A person shall be exempt fro m the educational qualifications
152	152	required by the Department for a master teache r if the person has:
153	153	1. Not less than two (2) years o f full-time experience or the
154	154	equivalent in the profession of child care or education as
155	155	determined by the Department ; or
156	156	2. Obtained not less than six (6) credit hours at an
157	157	institution within The Oklahoma State System of Higher Education or
158	158	at a technology center school in subjects rel evant to child care as
159	159	determined by the Department.
160	160	C. E. Licensed child care facilities opened or expanded before
161	161	November 1, 2016, shall have thirty -five (35) square feet of floor
162	162	area per infant in room s occupied only by infa nts. New construction
163	163	and existing space not previously licensed for child care after
164	164	November 1, 2016, shall have forty (40) square feet of floor area
165	165	per infant in rooms occupied only by infants.
