77	77	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
78	78	SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 63 O.S. 20 21, Section 1-1527, is
79	79	amended to read as follows:
80	80	Section 1-1527. The State Legislature by adopting this act
81	81	intends to preempt any other regulation promulgated to con trol
82	82	smoking in public places and to standardize laws that governmental
83	83	Political subdivisions may adopt regulations to control or prohibit
84	84	smoking or vaping in public places or properties owned or operated
85	85	by the respective go verning bodies. Cities and towns may ena ct and
86	86	enforce laws prohibiting and penalizing conduct under provisions of
87	87	this act, but the provisions of such laws shall be the same as
88	88	provided in this act and t he enforcement provisions unde r such laws

140	140	shall not the Smoking in Public Places and Indoor Workplaces Act.
141	141	Such laws may be more, but not less, stringent than those of this
142	142	act; provided, however, that cities and towns shall be authorized to
143	143	enact laws restricting smoking on properties owned or operated by
144	144	the respective governing bodies. Nothing in this section shall be
145	145	construed as to prevent county or municipal governments, at the
146	146	discretion of the respective gove rning bodies, from prohibiting
147	147	smoking in or on property owned or opera ted by the respective
148	148	governing bodies the Smoking in Public Places and Indoor Workplaces
149	149	Act.
150	150	SECTION 2. This act shall become effec tive November 1, 202 3.
