7575 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
7676 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 29 O.S. 2021, Section 7 -503, is
7777 amended to read as follows:
7878 Section 7-503. A. Except as otherwise provided for by law, n o
7979 person may buy, barter, trade, sell or offer, or expose for sale all
8080 or any part of any fish or wildlife, or the nest or eggs of any
8181 bird, protected by law. The carcasses or any parts thereof of
8282 legally acquired furbearing animals or coyotes may be purchased,
8383 bartered, traded, sold or offered for sale. The fur or pelt of
8484 legally acquired squirrels may be purchased, bartered, traded, sold
8585 or offered for sale.
8686 B. Persons licensed to propagate or sell fish or wildlife

139139 Code and persons who have documentation of legally purchased fish or
140140 wildlife or parts thereof for resale are exempt from the provisions
141141 of this section.
142142 C. All wildlife or parts thereof seized pursuant t o the
143143 provisions of this section and determined to be unfit for release in
144144 a suitable locale shall be sold. The proceeds from said the sale
145145 shall be deposited in the Wildlife Conservation General Revenue
146146 Fund.
147147 D. No person shall buy, barter, trade, or sell, within this
148148 state, any furbearing animal, game animal, or game fish, or any part
149149 thereof, acquired from a source wi thin or outside of this state
150150 unless at the time and place of each such sale, the seller shall
151151 possess an invoice signed by the person fr om whom said the seller
152152 purchased said the animals or fish, which shall contain a statement
153153 of the source from which said the animals or fish were acquired, and
154154 the species and quanti ty of each species, or parts thereof,
155155 delivered to said the seller.
156156 E. Persons who have obtaine d legal possession of wildlife or
157157 parts of wildlife after being given to the person for taxiderm ic
158158 preparation or processing of the meat for consumption shall be
159159 permitted to dispose of such, unless otherwise prohibited by law,
160160 under rules established by the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation

213213 F. The animal, bird, fish, or part thereof shall be confiscated
214214 by the arresting authority and forwarded to the C ommission to be
215215 held until the matter is resolved. If a per son violating the
216216 provisions of this section is convicted, the Commission shall retain
217217 and properly dispose of the confiscated anima l, bird, fish, or part
218218 thereof. If a person accused of violating the provisions of this
219219 section is acquitted, the confiscated animal, bi rd, fish, or part
220220 thereof shall be returned to the possession of the person from whom
221221 it was confiscated.
222222 G. The first violation of any of the provisions of this section
223223 shall be punishable by a fine of not less than One Hundred Dollars
224224 ($100.00), nor more than Five Hundred Dol lars ($500.00), or by
225225 imprisonment in the county jail for a period not less than ten (10)
226226 days nor more than sixty (60) days, or by both said such fine and
227227 imprisonment.
228228 Subsequent violations of the provisions of this section shall be
229229 punishable by a fine of not less than One Thousand Dollars
230230 ($1,000.00), or by imprisonment in the county jail for a period not
231231 less than ten (10) days nor more than sixty (60) days, or by both
232232 said such fine and imprisonment.
233233 SECTION 2. This act shall become e ffective November 1, 2024.
