77	77	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
78	78	SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 1607, is
79	79	amended to read as follows:
80	80	Section 1607. A. There is hereby re-created, to continue until
81	81	July 1, 2024, in accordance with the provisions of the Oklahoma
82	82	Sunset Law, the Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology an d
83	83	Audiology whose duty it is to administer the provisions of the
84	84	Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Licensing Act . The members
85	85	of the Board shall be residents of this state and shall be appoin ted
86	86	by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Sen ate. The
87	87	Board shall be composed of five (5) members consisting of three
88	88	licensed speech-language pathologists or audiologists, provided that

140	140	at least one of the three shall be a licensed speech -language
141	141	pathologist and at least one a licensed audiologist ; one
142	142	otolaryngologist who is certified by the American Board of
143	143	Otolaryngology and one lay member.
144	144	B. The members of the original Board shall ser ve the following
145	145	terms: one member for one (1) yea r, two members for two (2) years,
146	146	and two members for thre e (3) years. Thereafter, at the expiration
147	147	of the term, or termination of the member ’s service for any reason,
148	148	the Governor shall appoint each suc cessor for a term of three (3)
149	149	years, or for the re mainder of an unexpired term. The successor for
150	150	any of the three speech-language pathologists or audiologists will
151	151	be selected from a list of five licensed speech -language
152	152	pathologists or audiologists, fu rnished by the Oklahoma Speech -
153	153	Language-Hearing Association In selecting appointees, the Governor
154	154	may consider recommendations from a statewide organization
155	155	representing speech-language pathologists or audiologists , a state
156	156	chapter of a national organization representing speech-language
157	157	pathologists or audiologists, or other groups or individuals in this
158	158	state. The re-creation of the Board shall not affect the staggered
159	159	terms of office for Board members established with the original
160	160	Board.
161	161	C. Before entering upon the duties of the member ’s office, each
162	162	member of the Board shall take the Constitutional oath of office and
163	163	file it with the Secretary of State.

215	215	D. Board members may be reappointed to serve one additional
216	216	three-year term. Three (3) years afte r the termination of a
217	217	previous appointment to the B oard, a member may be reappointed for
218	218	one additional three-year term.
219	219	E. Board members shall be reimbursed for travel expenses
220	220	incurred in the performance of their duties as provided in the State
221	221	Travel Reimbursement Act.
222	222	SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.
