7575 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAH OMA:
7676 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
7777 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 25 of Title 51, unless there is
7878 created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
7979 A. As used in this section :
8080 1. “Public officer” means any public official or any employee
8181 of a law enforcement agency as defined in Section 2 4A.3 of Title 51
8282 of the Oklahoma Statu tes; and
8383 2. “Gun control policy” means a set of laws or policies that
8484 regulate the manufacture, sale, transfer, possession, modification,
8585 or use of firearms by civilians.
8686 B. A public officer or the employees of a pub lic officer shall
8787 not use public monies or cause public monies to be used for the

139139 advocacy or promotion of gun control policy and shall be
140140 specifically prohibited from doing any of the foll owing:
141141 1. Using publicity or propaganda for purposes of advocating or
142142 promoting gun control policy or preparing, distributing , or using
143143 any kit, pamphlet, bookle t, publication, electronic communication,
144144 or radio, television, or video presentation designed to support or
145145 defeat the enactment of legislation, an ordinance, r ule, regulation,
146146 or administrative action relating to gun control policy;
147147 2. Paying the salary or expenses of any grant or contract
148148 recipient or agent acting on behalf of the recipient, if the grant
149149 or contract is related to any activity designed to influ ence the
150150 enactment of legislation, an ordinance, rule, regulation , or
151151 administrative action rel ating to gun control policy; or
152152 3. Advocating or promoting any proposed, pending, or future
153153 federal, state, or local tax increase relating to gun control
154154 policy, or any proposed, pending , or future requirement or
155155 restriction on any legal consumer product including the sale and
156156 marketing of the legal consumer product relating to the advocacy or
157157 promotion of gun control policy.
158158 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective Novem ber 1, 2023.
