SENATE BILL 505 	By: Rogers 
 
 
 
 
 
AS INTRODUCED 
 
An Act relating to public employees; prohibiting 
certain work stoppage ; stating consequences for 
violation; protecting certain right of i ndividual; 
providing for codification ; and providing an 
effective date. 
 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     NEW LAW     A new section of law to be codified 
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 847 of Title 74, unless there is 
created a duplication in numb ering, reads as follows: 
A. Public employees shall not strike or engag e in an organized 
work stoppage against the state or any political subdivision of this 
state. 
B. A public employee who violates subsection A of this act 
automatically forfeits his or her employment with the state or 
political subdivision, all civil service rights , pensions, 
reemployment rights, and benefits, as a result o f public employment.

C. A public employee who is emplo yed as a teacher or 
administrator and violates subsection A of this act shall have his 
or her state teaching certificates revoked. 
D. The right of an individual to cease work m ay not be abridged 
if the individual is not acting in concert with others in an 
organized work stoppage. 
SECTION 2.  This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.
