39	44		amending 59 O.S. 2021, Section 1253, which relates to
40	45		the State Board of Licensed Social Workers; extending
41	46		sunset date; providing an effective date; and

48	53		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
49	54		SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 1253, is
50	55		amended to read as follows:
51	56		Section 1253. A. There is hereby re -created, to continue until
52	57		July 1, 2023 2026, in accordance with the provisions of the Oklahoma
53	58		Sunset Law, the State Board of Licensed Social Workers, cons isting
54	59		of seven (7) members.
55	60		B. Three of the members of the Board shall be licensed social
56	61		workers or licensed clinical social workers licen sed pursuant to the
57	62		provisions of the Social Worker ’s Licensing Act. Two other members
58	63		shall be licensed as either social work associates or master ’s
59	64		social workers. One member shall be the president of the Oklahoma
60		-	Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. The

	92	+	Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. The
87	93		remaining member of the Board shall be selected from and shall
88	94		represent the general public.
89	95		C. Responsibility for enforcement of the provisions of this act
90	96		the Social Worker’s Licensing Act is hereby vested in the State
91	97		Board of Social Work. The Board shall have al l of the duties,
92	98		powers and authority specifically granted by, or necessary for, the
93	99		enforcement of this act the Social Worker’s Licensing Act as well as
94	100		other duties, powers and authority it may be granted by applicable
95	101		law.
96	102		D. 1. Each member of the Board appointed as a social worker
97	103		shall:
98	104		a. be a resident of this state,
99	105		b. be licensed in good standing to engage in the pra ctice
100	106		of social work in this state,
101	107		c. at the time of appointment, have been actively engaged
102	108		in the practice of social work for at least one (1)
103	109		year out of the last five (5) years, and
104	110		d. have at least three (3) years of experience in the
105	111		practice of social work.
106	112		2. Each member of the Board appointed to represent the general
107	113		public shall be a resident of this state who has attained the age of
108	114		majority and shall not b e, nor shall ever have been, a social work
109	115		licensee, or the spouse of a social work licen see, or a person who
110		-	has ever had any material financial interest in the provision of

	143	+	has ever had any material financial interest in the provision of
137	144		social work services or has engaged in any activity directly related
138	145		to the practice of social work.
139	146		SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2 023.
140	147		SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
141	148		of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
142	149		declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
143	150		be in full force from and after its passa ge and approval.
