75	75	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
76	76	SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
77	77	in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 82.5 of Title 25, unless there
78	78	is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
79	79	A. Every county, municipa lity, city, town, school , or any other
80	80	political subdivision, or every person, individually or collectively
81	81	as a group or organization, or every public or private business
82	82	operating in the state, shall retain the authority to d isplay, in
83	83	its public or private buildings and on its grounds, a nativity
84	84	scene.
85	85	B. As used in this section, “nativity scene” is defined as a
86	86	special exhibition, particularly during the Christmas season, of art
87	87	objects representing the birth of Jesus. Such nativity scenes can

139	139	include model figures or reenactments which may be called “living
140	140	nativity scenes” in which real humans and animals participate .
141	141	C. In the event that the legality or constitutionality of any
142	142	such display is challenged in a court of law, the Attorney General
143	143	is authorized to prepare and present a legal defense of the display.
144	144	SECTION 2. It being immediately necessa ry for the preservation
145	145	of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
146	146	declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
147	147	be in full force fro m and after its passage and ap proval.
