SENATE BILL NO. 949 By: Bullard of the Senate

West (Kevin) of the House
An Act relating to county and municipal buildi ngs;
providing for the display of the n ational motto in
certain county or municipal buildings; providing for
codification; and providing an effective date.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be cod ified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 2.1 of Title 19, unless there is
created a duplication in numb ering, reads as follows:
The governing body of a county or municipality in this state
shall be authorized to display the national motto of the United
States in a prominently visible loc ation in any building in its
respective custody. The placement and size of the display shall be
in keeping with the placement and size of the di splay of the
national motto in the United States Capitol Visitor Center.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 202 3.
