50	50	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
51	51	SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 21 O.S. 2021, Section 1272, is
52	52	amended to read as follows:
53	53	Section 1272.
54	54	UNLAWFUL CARRY
55	55	A. Notwithstanding any other provisi on of law, it shall be
56	56	unlawful for any person to carry upon or about his or her person, or
57	57	in a purse or other container belonging to the person, any pistol,
58	58	revolver, shotgun or rifle whether loaded or unloaded or any
59	59	blackjack, loaded cane, hand chain, metal knuckles, or any other
60	60	offensive weapon, whether such weapon be concealed or unconcealed,
61	61	except this section shall not prohibit:

88	88	1. The proper use of guns and knives for self-defense, hunting,
89	89	fishing, educational or recreational purposes;
90	90	2. The carrying or use of weapons in a manner otherwise
91	91	permitted by statute or authorized by the Oklahoma Self -Defense Act;
92	92	3. The carrying, possession and use of any weapon by a peac e
93	93	officer or other person authorized by law to carry a weapon in the
94	94	performance of official duties and in compliance with the rules of
95	95	the employing agency;
96	96	4. The carrying or use of weapons in a courthouse by a district
97	97	judge, associate district judge o r special district judge within
98	98	this state, who is in possession of a valid ha ndgun license issued
99	99	pursuant to the provisions of the Oklahoma Self -Defense Act and
100	100	whose name appears on a list maintained by the Administrative
101	101	Director of the Courts;
102	102	5. The carrying and use of firearms and other weapons provided
103	103	in this subsection when used for the purpose of living history
104	104	reenactment. For purposes of this paragraph, "living history
105	105	reenactment" means depiction of historical characters, scenes,
106	106	historical life or events for entertainment, education, or
107	107	historical documentation throu gh the wearing or use of period,
108	108	historical, antique or vintage clothing, accessories, firearms,
109	109	weapons, and other implements of the historical period; or
110	110	6. The transporting b y vehicle on a public roadway or the
111	111	carrying of a firearm, concealed or unconcealed, loaded or unloaded,

138	138	by a person who is twenty -one (21) years of age or older or by a
139	139	person who is eighteen (18) years of age but not yet twenty -one (21)
140	140	years of age and the person is a member or veteran of the United
141	141	States Armed Forces, Reserves or National Guard or was discharged
142	142	under honorable conditions from the United States Armed Forces,
143	143	Reserves or National Guard, and the person is otherwise not
144	144	disqualified from the possession or purchase of a firearm under
145	145	state or federal law and is not carrying the firearm in furtherance
146	146	of a crime; or
147	147	7. The transporting by vehicle on a public roadway a loaded
148	148	rifle by a person who has been issued a license to carry a concea led
149	149	or unconcealed handgun as provided by the provisions of the Oklahoma
150	150	Self-Defense Act.
151	151	Except as provided in subsection B of Section 1283 of this
152	152	title, a person who has been convicted of any one of the following
153	153	offenses in this state or a violation o f the equivalent law of
154	154	another state:
155	155	a. assault and battery pursuant to the provisions of
156	156	Section 644 of this title which caused serious
157	157	physical injury to the victim,
158	158	b. aggravated assault and battery pursuant to the
159	159	provisions of Section 646 of this ti tle,
160	160	c. assault and battery that qualifies as domestic abuse
161	161	as defined in Section 644 of this title,

188	188	d. stalking pursuant to the provisions of Section 1173 of
189	189	this title,
190	190	e. a violation of an order issued under the Protection
191	191	from Domestic Abuse Act or a domestic abuse protection
192	192	order issued by another state, or
193	193	f. a violation relating to illegal drug use or possession
194	194	under the provisions of the Uniform Controlled
195	195	Dangerous Substances Act,
196	196	shall be prohibited from carrying a firearm under the provisions of
197	197	this paragraph. Any person who carries a firearm in the manner
198	198	provided for in this paragraph shall be prohibited from carrying the
199	199	firearm into any of the places prohibited in subsection A of Section
200	200	1277 of this title or any other place currently pro hibited by law.
201	201	Nothing in this section shall modify or otherwise change where a
202	202	person may legally carry a firearm.
203	203	B. Any person convicted of violating the foregoing provision
204	204	shall be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable as provided in Section
205	205	1276 of this title.
206	206	SECTION 2. This act shall become effective Novembe r 1, 2025.
