50	50	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
51	51	SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
52	52	in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 201 of Title 40, unless there is
53	53	created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
54	54	A. As used in this section, "status verification system " means
55	55	an electronic system operated by the federal government, through
56	56	which an authorized official of an agency of the State of Oklahoma
57	57	or of a political subdivision therein may make an inquiry, by
58	58	exercise of authority delegated pursuant to Section 1373 of Title 8
59	59	of the United States Code, to verify or ascertain the citizenship or
60	60	immigration status of any individual within the jurisdiction o f the
61	61	agency for any purpose authorized by subsection B of this section.
62	62	The status verification system shall be deemed to include:

89	89	1. The E-Verify Program of the Illegal Immigration Reform and
90	90	Immigration Responsibility Act of 1996, P.L. 104 -208, Division C,
91	91	Section 403(a), 8 U.S.C., Section 1324a, and operated by the United
92	92	States Department of Homeland Security, known as the E-Verify
93	93	Program;
94	94	2. Any equivalent federal program designated by the United
95	95	States Department of Homeland Security or any other federal agency
96	96	authorized to verify the work eligibility status of newly hire d
97	97	employees, pursuant to the Immigration Reform and Control Act of
98	98	1986 (IRCA), D.L. 99 -603;
99	99	3. Any other independent, third -party system with an equal or
100	100	higher degree of relia bility as the programs, systems, or processes
101	101	described in this subsection; or
102	102	4. The Social Security Number Verification Service, or such
103	103	similar online verification process implemented by the United States
104	104	Social Security Administration.
105	105	B. Beginning November 1, 2025, every employer registered to do
106	106	business in the State of Okla homa must utilize a status verification
107	107	system for new hires .
108	108	C. Any employer or officer or agent of an employer who violates
109	109	this section shall receive three warnings . After the final warning,
110	110	a fine of not less than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) nor more than
111	111	Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each offense shall be incurred.

139	139	SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
