4040 An Act relating to lung cancer screening; creating
4141 the Lung Cancer Screening Program; providing the

5050 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
5151 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
5252 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1 -580 of Title 63, unless there
5353 is created a duplication i n numbering, reads as follows:
5454 A. A Lung Cancer Screening Program shall be created within the
5555 State Department of Health. The program may provide grants to
5656 National Cancer Inst itute (NCI)-Designated Cancer Centers for the
5757 purpose of expanding mobile lung cancer screening services. The
5858 program may provide funding for assessment, referral, consultation,
5959 and screening for lung cancer, including equipment for mobile lung
6060 cancer screening.
6161 B. The Department may contract with entities to carry out the
6262 purposes and functions of the Lung Cancer Screening Program and

8989 shall establish standards and criteria for entities to be eligible
9090 to contract with the Department.
9191 C. The State Board o f Health shall:
9292 1. Promulgate rules necessary for the administration of the
9393 Lung Cancer Screening Program; and
9494 2. Establish evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness of
9595 the Lung Cancer Screening Program.
9696 D. The Lung Cancer Screening Program shall f ocus on increasing
9797 the lung cancer screening rate for individuals who qualify as "high-
9898 risk" per the United State Preventative Services Task Force.
9999 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
