4040 An Act relating to railroads; defining terms;

4848 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
4949 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
5050 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 105 of Title 66, unless there is
5151 created a duplication in numbering, rea ds as follows:
5252 A. As used in this section:
5353 1. "Branch line" means a secondar y line that branches off from
5454 a main line; and
5555 2. "Main line" means a Class 1 railroad documented in current
5656 timetables filed as required pursuant to 49 C.F.R. 217.7 with the
5757 Federal Railroad Administration. A main line is used for regular
5858 scheduled freight or passenger service.
5959 B. Railroads are prohibited from operating any branch line or
6060 main line train that exceeds a length of eight thousand five hundred
6161 (8,500) feet.

8888 SECTION 2. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
8989 of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
9090 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
9191 be in full force from and after its passage and app roval.
